Cusop Playing Field: Update

Work on a new masterplan has begun, likely to include a new grass multi-sports area with improved goal posts, better fencing, and perhaps a tennis net.Last week Cusop Parish Council Chairman

John Ievers met newly-appointed landscape design consultancy, Lyngard Farrow Styles, and the Herefordshire Section 106 Officer for playgrounds, at the playground to initiate design work.

Herefordshire Council is involved because they are custodians of the £43,000 of section 106 funding arising from the Bookers’ Edge development: this funds the re-think of the playing field.

It is hoped a draft plan will be completed over the summer, with a public meeting planned for September for users and locals to take a look and share their views.

The Parish Council has also approved exploratory work on funding for a safer gate, and improved pedestrian access.

In a separate move,  Herefordshire’s Ash Die-Back and Tree Team would be visiting the steep brookside adjacent to the playing field.
