Cusop Parish Council will consider proposals to refresh the playground at its meeting on Wednesday 14th October 2026.
A full refurbishment is beyond the budget allocated (£43,000) and so the first phase aim is likely to be to clear and level the space for a multi-use games area (turfed) on the site of the existing small football pitch and fenced-off former septic tank, to provide goals/tennis nets, and then to fence it adequately.
Other equipment is reaching the end of its life: an early quote suggests replacing with good modern mostly wooden equipment would cost around £30,364 including installation and suitable surfaces.
The cost of relocating or improving the spider climbing frame, which would mean a larger games area, is likely to be a similar cost.
Residents views are most welcome. Please email clerk@cusopparishcouncil.gov.uk or come along to the meeting on Wednesday.
